Belated Fantastic Friday

Yesterday I was celebrating Independence Day with good friends, brisket, beer and fireworks. So, I'm a day behind! But, it looks like Diane missed her day, too. So, I feel no guilt. Mwhahahaha!

I found the following article today while "stumbling" and thought it was worthy of sharing with my WAHM friends. We need to EAT HEALTHY TO BE HEALTHY! So read on to discover the
The 11 Best Foods You Aren’t Eating By Tara Parker-Pope.

By the way... you can plant a couple of these in your garden.

We are running a 10% off bed sale over at Shaka Studios through July 6, 2008. We only put beds on sale about twice per year. So, if you are in the market, pop over and check us out!

I'm taking my daughter to Michaels today for The Knack event. Kids crafts are offered for $5 on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month. We've never gone so I can't tell you much more but anything to get the kid out of the house during summer is good. Although she was at Girl Scout camp all week so she's probably tuckered out, especially after staying up so late last night watching fireworks.

Girl Scout camp must have been awesome. She went swimming everyday, horseback riding twice and earned SEVEN badges! Oh, I wish I was a kid, again.

Thankful Thursday

on Friday.
oops. I guess I am loosing a day here and there :) I have so much going on right now. I am still fighting this summer cold. Just about nothing worse than a summer cold.
I am trying to go through overstock of apparel. My business took a different turn when we moved to Arizona and I will not be using all these tees now so might as well sell them.
I am working on Christmas ideas. These are my first 2 projects. I will embroider them on kids sweatshirts and personalization will be FREE. I would love to do a Christmas in July sale so we will see how that goes.
Today though, as always, I would love to tell you all that I am sooooo Thankful to live in this great country of ours. I feel so blessed to have been born here. AND also as always, I am so thankful for your friendships. In business and personal areas of my life I cherish you all.

In honor of my love for our country I have come up with this little decorative hand towel.
I use mine as decoration only on my kitchen stove. I have given it as gifts and some use the towel others choose to use it as a decoration. Either way I think it is a lovely addition to your kitchen or bathroom.

Talk About It Tuesday

I haven't seen the other ladies posts yet, so I don't know if there is going to be a theme this week. However, Lynn talked about her softball piggies... which made me think of watching sports... which led to plasma TVs... which of course resulted in today's talk about it topic: custom made plasma TV stands.

The nice thing about a custom TV stand is that you get to choose everything about it, from the height to the color to the hardware. Unlike when you visit a furniture store, what you see is NOT what you get. When you purchase custom furniture, you get exactly what you want.

The TV stand pictured is 55" wide with 2 sets of doors in a black on java prim finish. It features a component cubbie and a shelf behind each set of doors.

Here is what you need to know before you order your custom TV stand:

  • Height x Width x Depth of TV.

  • H x W x D of the largest component (usually the stereo receiver) and smallest component.

  • Maximum H x W x D of overall unit. (Measure your wall.)

  • Number of shelves and drawers needed.

  • Additional features needed. For example, a pull out shelf for your turntable.

  • Wood, glass, mesh or no doors?

  • If the unit will have doors, does it need a component cubbie?

Other things you will need to decide on:

  • Type of wood? Pine, Maple, Oak, Cherry, Tiger Maple, Exotic

  • Finish Type & Color (Some wood species, like Tiger Maple, need to be dyed. Others can be stained or painted.)

  • Hardware

Have fun shopping for your new TV and contact Shaka Studios when you are ready to design your custom TV stand!

Home Bra Clinic

Today I hosted a home bra clinic. 4 of my friends joined me for wine, cheese and uplifting merriment. Pun intended. I wish I took before and after photos! The transformation was amazing. All of our clothes fit so much better with our new bras because the bras FIT! I think all of us were in the incorrect size. It's amazing. We went into the "fitting room" complaining about how nursing our babies had changed our figures then came out with rib cages and waistlines again!

Visit Jeunique for information on your own custom bra business. I don't know anything at all about the compensation plan, I'm not a Jeunique rep. I do know that the bras are amazing and every woman I know needs a good bra.

Of course, you should do your own due diligence when considering any networking marketing business. Just as you would if you were considering starting a traditional company.

My Favorite Planner has been Discontinued!

All the SuperWAHMZ know and appreciate Suzie, the owner of The Busy Woman. She has decided to discontinue her amazing day planner system. I have been using her system for 8 years now. It's not to late to try her system as she still has some inventory available at 75% off. Here is a note from her website:

"All planner products are on closeout. We have plans are in the works for a new website and new ideas. We hope you'll stick with us for the ride. Up to 75% off on The Busy Woman's Daily Planner® pages! Get the Best day planner on the market for women at the lowest prices."

I am going to buy a couple years worth of planner pages just so I don't have to try to find a replacement too soon.

Why Her Brain Matters

While we’ve only scratched the surface of brain study, here’s one fact we do know: a woman’s brain has four times as many connections between the left and right hemispheres as that of a man’s.

Does this make women smarter or more superior than men?

Input Needed - Why Buy American?

I am writing a speech for Toastmasters that I am giving Thursday, June 12th. Oh my! Where did the time go? I need your honest input. Give me your best reasons for buying American made products, rather than imports. What reasons really compell you to choose American over the imports?

I am off to a yoga clinic this morning. I'll be back around noon and expect my inbox to be filled with lots of inspiring comments so I can wrap up this speech and start practicing it!
