Social Media - I'm all in a "twitter"!

So, I created a Twitter account a few weeks ago. I haven't been back to it since. Don't have time for the "learning curve". UGH! I need another something on my "to-do" list. I love new stuff and want to be part of it, just don't know how anyone finds the time to do it. Is it just me?

I have a personal facebook page and a professional facebook page AND a comfycozy.com page. Trying to keep my ducks in a row, my personal and professional life separate and use social media to promote comfycozy.com

Anyway, I saw this article - ok, it was posted on my Facebook page from a "friend". It's my kind of article. Short, sweet paragraphs with specific topics, no long seminar, e-class or verbage that is over my head!

I may be Tweeting sooner than I thought! I'd give you my twitter account to follow me, but I don't know how to do that YET!

Hope you get something out of the article too:) Click HERE to read it.

Facebook & Twitter for your business

Please don't read this expecting advice on using Facebook and Twitter for your business.  I have none.  Not one iota.  I am writing because I don't get the whole social networking thing in connection to business.

I have a facebook page.  I haven't visited it in months.  I don't have time.  And I hear you can have a facebook business page, but I don't have time for that either.  Since I can't type well, I haven't even looked at Twitter.

I understand that you need to network to build business.  I guess that pertains to some businesses.  But as a one mom business who hand crafts her product, I do not see how it applies to me.  I spend most of my time painting, and packing, and various other business related tasks, where do I find time to Facebook or Twitter?

I am not bashing either network.....I am just trying to understand.  Is it because I am already busy with my piggy banks, that I don't have time or need for them?  Am I just behind the times and don't get it?  Am I missing out because I am busy painting?  Am I just Twitterilliterate?  Or Facebookphobic?

Someone enlighten me.....I don't want the world to pass me by.

Fantastic Friday: Facebook

I joined Facebook a month or so ago. Put in my school and previous work info and voila! I have over 100 friends. Some are folks I haven't spoken with in over 20 years. It's wild catching up with folks.

Last night I discovered that I can create a Facebook page for my business! Then folks can become FANS of my business, Shaka Studios! How cool is that?

With a Facebook business page, you can upload photos & videos, create a calendar of events, start a discussion, link to your website... and I'm sure there are other neat features I haven't figured out yet.

So you are probably thinking? Who has time for Facebook? Here's the rub: There are now over 100 new people that now know about my custom furniture business. The beauty of social networking is that because they know, soon their friends will know, and so on.

It took me about 30 minutes to set up my Facebook business page. I'm going to sit back now and see what happens.

Now back to baking cookies and addressing cards... HO HO HO!
