Etsy
Business is slow but finding time when you are a home/mom based business is hard to do sometimes.
There always seems to be something to do and no time to do it.
At this time I don't have embroidered items on Etsy.
Instead I chose to post some of the NEW stock I have left over from custom embroidery jobs
that I did and over ordered.
These blanks are perfect for embellishment.
They will make great gifts for birthdays or Christmas.
Since it is Thursday and I usually post on Thankful Thursday let me say now that I am
so thankful to have known the women of SuperWAHMz for so many year. You are awesome.
I am Blessed for sure to have you in my life.

Work Smarter - Closing the Sale.
Work Smarter... | |
By learning the 4 D’s of closing the sale. Whether you’re a salon owner, general contractor, herbalist or attorney, as entrepreneurs, we are all in sales. This may be new (and scary) territory for those who have spent years in a chosen profession, mastering that particular skill. But now as a business owner, not only do you have to be a wiz at accounting or an expert dog groomer, you also need to know how to market and sell yourself as well. Fortunately, mastering the sales process isn’t really that hard once you break it down into these four simple stages from Inc.com. Discovery. The first thing you need to do is to make sure the potential client is likely to benefit from your product or services. That means you really need to know who your target audience is and what it is they want. Diagnosis. Then you need to be able to help the client see the problems (or pain points) inherent in their current situation. People are pleasure-seeking creatures. If they recognize a situation is uncomfortable, it’s natural for them to want to fix it or make it better. Design. Once someone is interested in making an improvement, your job is to show them how your product or service is designed to help. Get the potential client to envision how much better off they’ll be once they’ve dealt with this issue (with your help, of course!). Delivery. By now, the potential client is on the verge of committing, and the last action you need to “seal the deal” is to show her exactly how what you have to offer will be THE answer. There are many ways to do demonstrate your abilities, such as a formal presentation, before and after photos or a free trial. Be creative, and be confident! |

21st Century :)
I need to work on my website.
I think it is about time I learn how to do that myself and
maybe take a class or two on search engines and how they work.
I need to learn how to blog more efficiently and
I need to learn how to tweet LOL
OH.... and I need to make a newsletter.
Not much to learn there. Maybe I CAN teach this OLD dog some new tricks.
I think I might be looking forward to the challenge.

Weekends
We seldom have weekend plans, and I actually like to paint, so I, more often than not, find myself sitting at the kitchen table working.
Once in a while I think maybe I should find a hobby. Knitting or something.....then I remind myself that I do like to paint, and I am lucky to be able to make money at what once was my hobby. And so I go back to work.
I really could use a good book to read, but I haven't taken time to go to the library and browse.
Not a big movie watcher. I really don't do anything to de-stress...
And I wonder why I start to feel burnt out.....maybe I should take some time to myself, huh?

Finally....
I am finally just about caught up. Well, caught up in the sense that orders are shipping about 2 weeks after being placed. And that's not too bad for hand painted to order items.
I saw a shop on etsy that has an 8-12 week turn around time! Holy cow! That is totally unacceptable. Waiting 3 months for an order? And yet they get orders.....
I start to stress when I am 3 weeks behind. Anyway, I am getting caught up and have a few new ideas I want to paint. So, when I have some time, I'll paint something new and get those creative juices flowing again. Stay tuned...
